The Guest Relations Officer at a 5* Beverly Hills hotel and founder of her own special events agency, Siera M’Halla, a Vatel 2013 graduate, is now living the life she always dreamed of!

When she was little, Siera wanted to be a special events “superwoman.” Just like those who have a new challenge every day, travel all over the world and meet VIPS from every nationality at each event.

She quickly saw that a career in the international hospitality industry would allow her to reach this goal. She’ll tell us how she managed to do this, after having done her undergraduate studies at Vatel Tunis and her graduate studies at Vatel Los Angeles.

The Langham Huntington Pasadena Hotel in California hosted me for my MBA Vatel final internship, and I was directly hired by them as the Supervisor for their three restaurants. I finished my contract and was offered a job as the Lounge Bar Coco Laurent Special Events and Marketing Manager, right in the Downtown Los Angeles neighborhood.  These were my first steps in the world of special events.

Mr C Hotel California At the same time, I did volunteer work for special events for Insomniac Events and Exchange LA, which are the largest Public Relations groups in the city.

I built up a strong address book and was hired by the Leading Hotels of the World chain, as the Guest Relations Officer for its five-star hotels:

 

24 hours in special events

I wanted to be a business woman, rushing from one event to another. That’s exactly what I do: I work five evenings per week at the hotel and the rest of the time I work with 2 am. Bourgeoisie, the special events agency that I founded. At the same time, I manage the telephone and social networking services for Insomniac Events and Exchange LA.

And when I’ve got some free time? I go out to meet new people and widen my network to promote events my agency has to potential customers. Nothing works better than being present to succeed in this environment.

2 am. Bourgeoisie’s clients are very young and require our expertise mainly for:

  • publishing new albums,
  • launching new products and companies,
  • organizing fashion shows
  • promoting a movie or a celebrity.

Siera M'Halla Our first goal that my American associate and I had was to make our agency a benchmark in the field of nighttime events before broadening  our offer to daytime events with weddings, seminars and baby showers, etc.  We wanted to start off in Los Angeles, then in New York or      Miami.

 What I love most of all about my life in Los Angeles and in my line of work is that each and every day, evening and person that I meet,    brings me something new!  In the hotel as well as in the framework of the events that I manage for my company, I deal with young and  dynamic clients, from the entire world who came to take advantage of California’s ideal climate.”
